Ian and Jessica about to hoist the “core” out of the eleven-part internal plug mold for “Nectar”‘s nest… a 19th century technology to capture the bee’s vessel like forms uninterrupted by seams necessary with modern molds. Each cast from the mold represents a cell in a human-scaled bumblebee nest. Mold ships to LA this Fall for casting.
